this was …. just okay. i honestly felt nothing for apollo and cassandra’s relationship and was really disappointed in how bored i was throughout this book

Read for Fake Dating Trope for Between the Covers bookclub. It’s like if Clue was spicy…. And they both secretly loved each other 4 years prior and have to fake date for money. Loved every minute of it!

4th book in Dark Olympus series didn’t disappoint! I thought the relationship between the two main characters felt genuine and the story/overarching plot in the series is starting to pick up. I enjoyed the

vibes of this one a lot!
I do find that the more of these books I read the more all Kate’s characters seem to have the same inner monologue/voice. Which gets a little old. This story in particular felt a little repetitive

and overly similar to Neon Gods - fake dating, exhibitionism, FMC on a short timeline to leave Olympus. Also Katee keeps reusing the same phrases like “In the extreme”, “It’s a heady feeling”, and “I swallowed past the lump in my throat” a little too frequently.

But on the whole I enjoyed this entry in the series and it had some fun foreshadowing for the next book!

I absolutely loved this book. No notes. I loved both Cassandra and Apollo so much, but my appreciation for this book really comes with Cassandra being someone who is not part of the elites (not in the 13 or a high profile/elite family).
