A phenomenal entry to the cosmere, one of my favorites of Sanderson. Started a bit slow, probably to give the backstory but then it just ramped up so much and I found everything so fascinating. A must read

This felt Sanderson coming back into what his writing really can be. I felt the push of his social ideas he is latching onto but it was done tastefully and not full blown in your face, like Wind and Truth. I loved finally getting background on the dragons in the Cosmere and Dusk is fabulous. It does have a very sci-fi feel but you have the magic system working along side it, it worked.

You should probably be deep in the Cosmere before reading this one.

As someone who loved the novella Sixth of the Dusk, I LOVED this book! Well done, Sanderson!
adventurous emotional inspiring mysterious reflective slow-paced

It was really hard for me to get into this book.  I'm not sure why. Once I got into the groove though, I really loved it. TONS of references to other stories, it felt like a reward for people who have read all the other cosmere books. And the story itself was wonderful, I always like how Sanderson comes up with unique ways for magic and power to bond with people.

I wish we got slightly more though. What really happened to make Star get exiled? Where is her uncle? What is chrysalis's deal?
