I only read the short story "Don't Look Now". I know the movie but haven't watched it. I know Daphne du Maurier but haven't read her works. So I was surprised to learn that the movie was adapted from the same name short story of Daphne. Her writing is masterful as they said. Everything is shrouded in mystery. We only see the face value of people and events without understanding their meaning, until it's too late. The story is famous for its plot twist, which I found both abrupt and foreseen.

A good mix of short stories, each unlike the previous one. I suppose they are about misfortune, the supernatural, and personhood.

This is a collection of five very different short stories by Daphne du Maurier. I love her writing style and I found it so easy to slip into the stories, this small collection did not disappoint. I enjoyed all of the stories, but my favourite by far was Don’t Look Now, in which a couple holiday in Venice. It was a very atmospheric and creepy read, very suspenseful. I love Venice and found myself absorbed in the story and the ending!
