I finished this in one sitting and it was amazing. Seeing interview from Claudia’s perspective was extremely interesting and very introspective. Seeing the abuse she endured from lestat and armand in a deeper way was more interesting and it added a lot more layers to her original story in interview and also seeing iconic scenes from the first book with Claudia’s thoughts after them I enjoyed a lot too. Her motivations for wanting to kill lestat was also more clear now and for wanting Madeline to be turned into a vampire. The art is also extremely beautiful and very well done. I think the book is extremely good and very easy to read for people who haven’t read interview before but watched the film and the book is great for people who love the series and read them as there are some things in here from later books. Overall would highly recommend.
There is nothing really new about this novel, if you have read the original (or seen the movie), but it is just a lovely book. The artwork and the layout are beautiful and it was a nice trip down memory lane.
Ich war sehr erfreut, als ich dieses Buch gefunden habe und es hat mich nur ein bisschen enttäuscht. Ich mag Interview with the Vampire, ich kenne sowohl das Buch als auch den Film, und Claudia ist spätestens seit Kirsten Dunst mein Liebling. (Yay für Horror-Stories, die auch Hasenfüße wie ich mögen können.) Schade ist, dass man von diesem Buch mehr hat, wenn man die Geschichte schon kennt, denn die Handlung hat kein solides Erzähltempo. Es wird viel auf Gefühle und Gedanken und Befindlichkeiten verblieben und dann auf den letzten 10 Seiten, die dramatische Wendung. Für Fans der Geschichte aber eine wunderschöne, detailreiche Adaption, die fast komplett ohne Farbe auskommt... bis auf das Blut. Hrhr.
Beauty art! I love that this exists but I’m a little disappointed that we only got Claudia’s story that has been seen and known. I was hoping for more backstory and a deeper dive into her live.
