It was good. Already knew the story of course but it was nice to have a different perspective. The artwork was great. Loved the colors that were used. Writing was well done too. It was a fun, quick read. Only took about an hour. Was well worth it.

I have a definite soft spot for stories involving the earlier parts of The Vampire Chronicles. Claudia herself is not that interesting of a character in her own story. We don't get much new information about Claudia that we didn't get from Louis in Interview. What we do get is a more nuanced portrayal of Louis and Claudia's relationship. Claudia doesn't view her life through the same romantic filter that Louis does, so we get more of a sense of the emotional turmoil going on well before Armand entered the picture.
Armand also becomes a more interesting and sinister character through Claudia's eyes than through Louis's. Overall, this graphic novel was a nice complement to The Vampire Chronicles, but doesn't really add any more meat to the story.

When I read graphic novels I first judge it by the art. I won't stop reading it if the art isn't to my liking, but it IS a graphic novel. The graphics should show some amount of talent, even if it isn't in a style I like. Don't worry, this comic gets an A+ in the art department. The style is pretty much manga, but not the simple, big-eyed manga, but in the detailed-ness of it. It is beautiful! And the story follows the "Interview" book well also. And even as a person who loathes Claudia, I really enjoyed this! Seriously. I hate her guts. Even dead she never leaves Louis alone! Argh!
I personally love Claudia and her story and I thought this story was fantastic! I loved the art work!
