It’s the first Hannah Swensen novel I’ve read and I’ll be reading more! It’s such a fun book and I love that it includes recipes!

It was okay. A little long in some places, but overall just decent. Not my favorite, but I've read worse in this series too.

There are however a couple of things I was irritated by.
And one of those is the character Tracey. Again. It seems a repetitive gripe of mine.

Tracey is much too young to talk about inflation, let alone know what it is.
Secondly, why does she not only know about the death that happened, but also that it was murder?
Who spoke to this child about such an inappropriate topic?
I'm not entirely sure how old she is supposed to be in this book, but because there's still a toothfairy involved, I can only say: yikes.

Another small gripe: Why is it that Lisa is practically running the Cookie Jar by herself? Give her a bigger role if you're going to practically make her the owner. Give that sweet woman a raise.

Haha! I know I rate these low and still go back every 9 to 12 months and read another! I just enjoy something predictable and easy to read thoughtlessly every now and again and it is extra nice when the characters are old "friends." I love reading other people's reviews about how ridiculous the length of time that the Hannah-Norman-Mike love triangle has gone one, and I couldn't agree more, but it is what it is and it still was selling books for Fluke when this was written!
There were some "huh?" parts toward the end where I felt like I had missed a page--yet I was in the middle of the page! Seemed like lazy writing and editing. That was my biggest complaint, since I know what else I'm going to get when I visit Eden Prairie!

Pretty easy to figure out, but a fun Christmas cozy with plenty of good-sounding recipes.
