3.5! Loved the setting of the story and really liked the separated twins story line of Harper & Tabitha & the character development of Ainsley (Tabitha’s daughter) but I feel like we got too much stuff that was outside the realm of the main story and not enough closure or follow up with the ending. Per usual, Elin Hilderbrand has me ready to pack my bags for Nantucket immediately.
I can tell you all the things that made this a book I should just roll my eyes at, but somehow despite all of them (and, tbh, there were tons), it just was compelling enough that I wanted to finish it.
2.5 stars. I should’ve liked this book. Easy, light summer beach read, but couldn’t stay focused on it.
My first Elin Hilderbrand and definitely not my last, I really enjoyed the complicated relationships in this story that went far deeper than the typical chick lit I was expecting it to be.
Normally, I gush over the perfection of Elin's beach-read-writing. Unfortunately, this one was a little flat and a little boring. Not my favorite of hers!
A 3.5 would be more accurate. I enjoyed this book almost in spite of myself. It was a quick, enjoyable read - even if the characters were mostly insufferable, they were *so* insufferable and *so* obviously "good on the inside" that I was able to fall into their storylines and development. Nothing particularly memorable or groundbreaking, but sometimes that's okay.

there is a chapter from a dog's POV and I IMMEDIATELY rolled my eyes and wanted to dismiss it, but ended up teary. I feel this is important to capture as a part of my review.

I just love her books! Such easy reads and heart-warming! Def not a literary 5-star, but a great story and a feel-good book!
