୨ৎ : 'when it came to emmy, i was playing with fire, but i would happily walk into the flames for her. and i’d have a smile on my face the whole damn time.”
— ☆ 3.5/5
while this was super fast paced and easy to read i felt like it was so rushed. at the beginning of the book she 'hated' him, and then five chapters in she wants to jump his bones? get a grip.
anyway, i did like them, i just dont see the hype and i feel like if this was real theyd break up real qucik. but alas, i recognise game and luke brooks sure does have that.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. The pacing was way too fast, everything felt rushed, and I couldn’t really enjoy the chemistry, which is a shame. But overall, it’s a quick and easy read

Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage
This book is the definition of a light read/listen for me. A swoony, small-town cowboy romance with just the right amount of angst.
Emmy moves back to Meadowlark after big-city life, trying to find herself again, and bam—there’s Luke, her brother’s best friend and Meadowlark’s notorious bad boy. Their banter, tension, and eventual connection made this such a heartwarming story.
I listened to the audiobook in dual narration by Aaron Shedlock and Stella Hunter. Stella was fantastic as Emmy (and even pulled off the male voices really well). Aaron was great as Luke, but his Emmy voice fell a little flat for me. Still, overall the narration carried the charm of this story.
Sometimes I just need something lighter, and Done and Dusted was exactly that. Plus, I absolutely love the cover. I’ll definitely be picking up the rest of the series.
Tropes you’ll find here:
• Brother’s best friend
• Small-town romance
• Returning home
• Cowboy vibes
• She’s off-limits
Looking for a light, swoony cowboy romance that feels like a Hallmark movie but spicier? This one’s for you.
