When my roommate first suggested I read this book I didn't really think I'd be able to get into it. I'm only familiar with a few of Motley Crue's songs, and I didn't know much about Nikki Sixx at all. But I honestly loved this book. It follows somewhere around a year in the life of Nikki Sixx, told through his own journal, as he's going through some really awful addictions. There are entries where you see this genuinely shattered soul and then others where he is just a pompous, arrogant prick. But I liked that because it showed all the sides of a real person. I loved the way he talked about the band and touring and his own life, and the struggle he had constantly trying to choose between his addiction and living a creative life. I didn't know anything about Nikki Sixx before this book, but now I'm actually a pretty big fan.
Eye-opening & honest. Recommended to those who like music and/or exploring addiction. Truly enjoyable — though I agree with his daughter’s review that it’s just about him doing drugs, having sex, & being an asshole.

not being a fan of the band this book didn't make me feel left out. I was left in amazement at times to the real impact drugs had on his mind and how he mamaged to go on day after day with thoughts and feelings like he did. it was a great read and funny at times too.
This book was amazing and hard hitting. I wanted to reread it as soon as I finished but I just couldn't. I look forward to picking up more of his writing, and am glad he is around to write it.
