Very unclear what just happened. When were we in a dream? Book 1 was better. This one confused me but I will absolutely finish the series when book 3 comes out.
No! It can’t end like this! What do you mean that’s the end of the book? Lauren, come and speak for your actions!
All jokes aside, wow. Callum is the king of empty threats. Rory is the queen of zero impulse control. And Blake, well, Blake is just the King.
Callum is protective, sure, but he forgets one tiny, crucial detail: Rory won’t always be glued to his side. The girl needs basic self-defence, not bubble wrap. Honestly, he treats her like the fragile doll she says her father treated her as, delicate, untouchable, when what she really needs is self-assurance and someone who actually believes in her. The worst part is he doesn’t even trust himself with her.
Now, Blake, Blake is complicated. I genuinely think he didn’t like Rory at first, mostly because she ruined his carefully laid plans. And I kind of loved that. He makes her think, challenges her, and asks the uncomfortable questions that force her to face herself. The kicker is, he gives her choices even when he knows they might end in disaster. I don’t always like him, but I get him. And honestly, that’s exactly what Rory needs.
I adored the foreshadowing, the little hints of a bigger villain lurking in the shadows. I thought I knew the plot twist, but nope. Every single guess was way off. I mean, it's obvious and it's not. Does that make sense? I need Book 3 yesterday!
And confession time: every time Blake calls Rory “darling,” I turn into a squealing puddle. Speaking of puddles, the duet-style audiobooks are absolutely stellar. My insides are mush.

I’m sad to say that I really struggled with this book. I don’t like the love triangle. I used to like Callum and never really cared for Blake but now I don’t feel invested in anyone. Will I read book 3, I’m not sure. I really enjoyed book one though but book 2 kind of a let down for me.
