This was such a fun book, and I look forward to reading more with the interesting array of characters this introduced. So nice to read a book with a MC who is in her 40s with grown kids and an established life... a life that is immediately turned upside down.

Fun read except the ending felt rushed and her struggles are a bit easily overcome.
An amazing story with an amazing older heroine. I thoroughly enjoyed stepping into this world. There’s plenty of adventure and lots of kick butt moments for our heroine. Taking on the mob takes guts, not to mention the whole vampire-ism.

Uncertain about this, it had a good pacing and it was like the editor demanded a big bang at the end that was a bit of a whip-lash. I think it mucked up the slow (promising) pacing.
wow... Didn't know it was possible to add so many stereotypes into a single book - and in such a short time!
I read the description and thought "Oh, she wants to leave her life, so probably not a stupid woman with too much focus on her looks and body"... well... Nope, thats exactly whats going on in the first half on the book - non stop! If you like that stuff, go on, read it! Otherwise, it gets boring and annoying pretty fast...

I had such a good time with this book, and I can't wait to explore more of this world. Donna was so relatable, considering I'm also 49 years old. Kind of makes me want to be turned into a vampire.

Loved this book! Mafia, but with vampires too?!
When Donna's husband passed away she thought she'd be free of the Mafia life, but she was informed that she'd have to finish the job her husband now couldn't, and only then would she be free.
Of course nothing goes to plan, and everything Donna thought she knew about her life, and the world in general, is completely wrong.
I loved the characters in this book, and enjoyed reading how Donna navigated this new life of hers. After that ending I am excited to see where the next book goes! Great read!
