I thoroughly enjoyed this first in the new series by Kristen Painter. I have never resd her before so I had no idea what to expect! I did not even read the blurb!
This was well written,with a stellar storyline and an interesting cast of characters that had me hooked from the very beginning. Love me some vampire fiction and throw in the Mafia intrigue and life and death at every turn and I was in heaven! Well done to the author on this five star read! I cannot wait for the next in the series.

Fun, fast paced, and unpredictable
I really enjoyed this story! Just as I thought I knew what was going to happen, an unexpected twist popped up, keeping me completely on my toes! The main character, Donna, was a strong, self assured “older” woman who completely owned her life. It was so refreshing to read about a mature heroine who was able to flow with the unexpected twists life kept throwing at her!

This was a creative take on vampires and to a lesser extent, werewolves and Fae. It’s impossible not to cheer for the main character, Belladonna Barrone and it’s great to see a leading character in “middle age.” It’s easy to picture Donna and supporting characters as she navigates the changes in her life. Well done!

Seriously hoping for a second book! This was probably the fastest I have ever read a book and don’t regret a second of it. I will be buying a hard copy as well to keep on the shelf for rainy days.

Such a very positive forward book. I loved the mafia wife turned vampire aspect. Belladonna is a powerhouse and this story proved it. Never underestimate the power of a woman.... EVER!
