I waffled a lot on if I was going to read this or not. And now that I am done (listened to the audiobook on Libro.fm) I am glad I made the time. I am not a royal follower, meaning I don't follow their every move, but I did watch Prince Charles marry Diana, I remember where I was at when she died (camping at Lake Hartwell in north Georgia) and subsequently I remember when William married and when Harry married. I also remember when I heard that Harry was stepping away from the royal family. I was a little shocked, but mostly happy because it seemed he was taking control of his life.
I have to say that I totally understand where Prince Harry is coming from. I can't imagine what it is like to live in that fishbowl, or what it is like to have to deal with the press in the way that he has had to. There is one thing to court the press, but being born into class and privilege is something totally different. And to not protect your children is an abomination.
There is so much I could say about this book, but ultimately it is up to each reader to form their own opinion. I will say that this book was well written, and worthy of reading.

Beautiful writing, great voice—easy to believe that Harry’s voice was captured and placed into the pages. Very sad, but touching. Seemed like an honest and fair accounting. I’m glad he (and Meghan) got their story out there and hope they find peace.

I really loved the audiobook - having Harry tell me his life story was so wonderful and I appreciated the way he and his ghost writer told his story in such a classy, poignant way.
