Wow, are these good tragedies. My favourite was definitely Oedipus the King, just because of the sheer absurdity of the tragedy and it was very Extra (as the Greeks were, obvs), but they were all engaging and thoughtful and interesting. I appreciated the subtle wisdom in the tragedies, the lines that really spoke to me, the heartbreaking ending of Antigone's story (rip). These are classics for a good reason! Even if you have no intention to study these tragedies or analyze them, they're worth a read (or two, or three...). Highly recommended!

Excuse my language but holy shit
Oedipus the king ----
I binge read Oedipus the king within like 3 hours
it was the required text for college
fuck, so good and so fucked up
Sophocles is an amazing writer who has such philosophical ideas and truly understands tragedy
i got so engaged in the play to the point i was screaming and just wow - it comes together so nicely in the most fucked up way ever but it was beyond interesting, dear god.

not gonna review this as it was a book for uni but this was so good, i've read antigone two or three times now and never gets old

antigone is a #girlboss

A solid tragedy where morality is questioned and everyone dies. Not particularly noteworthy however due to lack of particularly likeable characters or beautiful prose.

Really interesting, had to read it for my A-level course. I loved it, all three plays were really good.
