This book was ehh... I don't really know if I want to read the last book...You can see the rest of my review -> Greyland Review

I loved the first book so much, and I wish I would have loved this one equally! But aside from this book being pretty uneventful in my opinion and the climax being pretty unbelievable, this book didn’t have any of what I loved in the first one. Although I am so glad there was not a love triangle, I missed all the romantic tension between Emma and Galen. The entire half of the book felt pretty pointless. I missed the reveals and the tensions. I felt like the author teased all of the plot twists. Anything that threatened her characters she didn’t actually let happen, except for the pointless loss in the end. I am going to read the third one but I am much less interested.

Of Triton is the second installment in Anna Banks' Syrena Legacy series. Let me just tell you-this book was even better than the first! I loved it so much. At the end of the first book, Emma found out that her mom was actually the princess of Poseidon and is the wife to Galen's older brother, Grom-which could be kind of creepy considering they both fell for people in the same family-but it's still pretty cool.

Emma, being the half-breed that she is, isn't really accepted under water even though she is part Syrena. It's not like she asked to be the way that she is. Another thing about half-breeds is that they do live longer than the average human but they only live about half as long as all the other Syrena, which makes Galen really upset because it means that he will have to lose the love of his life only halfway through his own.

In the beginning of this novel, Emma's mom has herself and her daughter on the run because she thinks that Galen is going to try to get her arrested for killing her brother Grom, even though he's really not dead. Of course, Grom and Emma's mother, Nalia, end up meeting up again and they're still deeply in love with one another which is absolutely lovely.

This series just keeps getting better, and I'm quite positive that I'll love the third book just as much as this one, if not even more. I love the characters-Emma and Galen-and the entire kingdom and world that Anna Banks has created. I have been drawn in since page one of Of Poseidon and I absolutely can't wait to read more. Plus, this book has the addition of reading through Galen's point of view, which was really cool! I loved reading Galen's thoughts and switching between Galen and Emma.

3.5 out of 5 stars. The story if super intriguing but can get slow at times.

Of Triton picks up right after the massive cliffhanger that we were left with in Of Poseidon. I really enjoyed reading Of Poseidon last year, so of course I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Of Triton to see what was going on with my favorite characters from the book. The book definitely did not disappoint!

Just like the first book, I absolutely love the main character, Emma. She is funny and smart, and strong willed as well. The relationship between Emma and Galen is absolutely adorable. While there was some strain on the relationship this time around, you could tell that Emma and Galen really cared for each other, even more than anything else. I love that about them.

We get to see a lot of the characters from the first book in this story again as well. Rayna and Toraf are still along for the ride, but they aren’t butting heads quite as much as in the previous book. We get a lot more information on Emma’s mom, which was really insightful, because I found her to be really mysterious in the previous book. We also get to meet Galen’s brother, Grom. I didn’t think I would, but I really liked Grom. Getting to see part of his world was really interesting.

The story is told through both Emma and Galen’s point of view. I enjoyed reading the story from both of their perspectives. I definitely feel like I got more information this way. The storyline for the novel was very well written, and I enjoyed reading about the underwater world, where a good chunk of the story took place. The ending of the book is not a cliffhanger like in the previous book, but it is a little bittersweet. There is one thing in particular that happens towards the end of the book that is really sad.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I enjoy the whole series, so far! I can’t wait to get my hands on the 3rd book in the series, of Neptune, due in 2014!

Happy Reading!

I liked the storyline in this one a lot. It felt more fully developed and thought out than the original. This also feels like a conclusion but there’s another book? I don’t know, but I’m here for more mermaids.

GOODREADS SUMMARY

In this sequel to OF POSEIDON, Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess, and now struggles with an identity crisis: As a Half-Breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm below. Syrena law states that all Half- Breeds should be put to death.

As if that’s not bad enough, her mother’s reappearance among the Syrena turns the two kingdoms—Poseidon and Triton—against one another. Which leaves Emma with a decision to make: Should she comply with Galen’s request to keep herself safe and just hope for the best? Or should she risk it all and reveal herself—and her Gift—to save a people she’s never known?

I am in love with this series. There wasn’t a single moment in the book that was boring. If it wasn’t for work, I would have finished this book much faster. Of Triton, I love the titles for these books, along with the covers, they are colorful and eye catching. Even if I didn’t read the first book, I would pick up this one because of the cover, and the summary. Of Triton was more action packed then the first one, it was more attention grabbing and every scene, page had me crave for more.

Emma is my favorite in the book. Most books I read, there is always character who seems to be rescued by a guy. Not Emma, she is her own character. Strong, Smart and most of the time she won’t let guys get her out of tough situation. I love fact that she wouldn’t let anyone take advantage of her as well. Even if they are royal. Unexpected twists, that’s what kept this book even more interesting, there was always something unexpected that I did not see coming.

Love Mermaids? With adventure and romance? Then pick up your copy today. I’m curious to see what happens in the next addition to the series? If there is going be even more challenges for everyone to face. I am curious to see how all this will come to end.

Meh. First book was exciting. This one bores me.

I like the book, I could stop reading the book. And of course I hate a character in the book that is Jagan, grr. But then Rachel die at the end. Aww... Rachel(I need a moment of silence for her), she was one of my favorite character in the book. But then Emma and Galen get to save Jagan and go their High school prom.

In my opinion, this is where the series should've ended. Wrap things up a little differently and this would've been a great duology. This was well plot-driven and of course, the romance was great. Uncovering the secrets of the families and running with it was fantastic. I thought Emma was so much better in this one too. Far more willing to think for herself even if she did enjoy having Galen by his side at all times.

I wanted to mention that I know a guy named Galen and that made reading this series a little odd.
