A lovely narrative on the human experience. From the beginning, it seems like it’s going to be a really sad story but it’s actually very uplifting and hopeful. One of my top books of the year for sure!

This was an ideal beach read, but that feels a bit of an insult. It’s charming, witty and sometimes profound with the characters’ constant existential searching and realisations. The characters are mostly loveable and the flow was nicely balanced with the structure being plot-led and the contents of each day allowed to be led astray at the protagonist’s whim.
