Incredibly slow with so many characters that didn't hold my interest, and narrators I wasn't crazy about.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF at 36%

There are too many characters and absolutely no action in this book. It did not hold my interest at all. With all the books in the world I could not devote another minute to this one. The imagery of the gardens is wonderful which is why I gave it 2 stars. But as far as the characters go, I could not keep them straight. This might be the book for some people but not me!

Three timelines—early 1900s, WWII, present-day—and three wonderfully ordinary women. Their lives intertwine in the histories of an English manor and garden to create a picture of womanhood drawn over a century. The timelines were woven together effortlessly as the mysteries of the past started to slowly unwind. Setting plays a huge role here and the imagery was done so well. The whole book feels like standing in a room that oozes history and knowing you’re now a part of it.

I liked the history behind this book but the story was a bit bland

DID NOT FINISH

DNF. Didn't pull me in, couldn't be bothered to finish it.

This novel was what I'd call a Goldilocks novel. It was just right. It had just the right amount of historical fiction, just the right amount of romance, and the right amount of pages. I liked the story and what ended up happening between all of the characters, and I really liked that this revolved around a garden. I think that there were *too* many characters to comprehend though. It was way too much having 6 different character POV's to read, and it was hard to keep track of. I think she should've stuck with 3 and called it a day. The writing was okay, and I felt like it could've been a little bit better at times. It was a solid book that did its job.

An absolutely beautiful book. As an avid reader and gardener, this book ticked off all the boxes. I loved the idea of different rooms in the garden.

Too many characters. Not enough to keep me fully interested.
