This was pretty good. And terrifying, and brutal, and with a surprisingly high body count. I preferred Beautiful Darkness by Kerascoet, but I'll definitely try out more of this artist's books.
The style, while very simple, almost childish in a way, totally works for the dark subject matter. I can't put my finger on it but I really, really like this kind of stuff.

Found all the characters immensely unlikeable.

While it cleverly made the point that beauty is subjective, this book failed to make the point that it is also trivial. The characters lacked depth and tended to be somewhat stereotypical.

Such an interesting idea. I admit the beginning fell short for me, as the main character wasn't very strong. However, she did grow as the story progressed and the idea of her enchantment was fleshed out really well.

This graphic novel takes the meaning of beauty and gives a different view, of what beauty can be and what the person who holds it (being selfish and idiotic) can do with it.
SpoilerThe transformation of beauty from this poor peasant girl to a queen, a mother, and a ruler, was pushing it over the limits of this character's identity and failing miserably. the ending was average at best. Beauty finding power and becoming untouchable was very unbelievable after all that happened...
the art thou was beautiful and it played a great role in bringing life to the story.
I wished the story would have made use of her daughter in making a better ending. the last parts of the story were a bit stuffed and I would say a bit delayed.

Started off okayish but I like how they handle the issue of the perception of beauty as the frightening and complicated thing that it is at the end. It's wrapped up well, and ended up wholesome. Props for the lovely art too!
