Poor Sookie always gets stuck in the middle of things. As always, a good read but not as interesting as the last few books. I felt as though not much happened but actually there was A LOT happening... go figure?! Anyway I look forward to reading Sookie's next adventure...

Once again I don’t have much to say.

I’m kind of glad Sookie broke up with Quinn even though I did like him - I totally saw it coming.

Crystal is bi**h but Jason doesn’t deserve anyone better. Also Jason continues his reign as biggest a**hole in the universe.

At this point I’m dying for some Eric and Sookie action but i would even compromise for some Sookie and Bill action. On that note I’m so glad Selah is gone.

Once again it was a good light read, nothing spectacular but can’t really complain.

Always drama!! Sometimes I feel like dramatic points just happen in this book out of nowhere. Ugh, I like it but seriously, like overthrowing and killing the queen felt really dramatic and all that. I might take a break and read something else before I finish up the series.

I like this more pragmatic, introspective Sookie. There's more Eric, Pam, and Sam here and I love it.

I love this series! I thought this was a definite improvement over the last book, and the ending was great. The only disappointment I had was that, relationtionship-wise, the series seems to be pretty stagnant. Other than that, great read and I hope the next comes out soon!

The 8th book of the Sookie Stackhouse series takes place just after Katrina and the bombing at the vampire summit. Sookie is recovering well and still searching for news on all of her vampire acquaintances – among the missing is her most recent boyfriend.

This book seems to be cut into three parts, different events that effect Sookie’s life all the while interweaving with the overarching storyline as Sookie finds out that she has more relatives still living than she thought. Like much of the series, there is death, hostile takeovers and new revelations are slowing starting to emerge. Sookie is still trying to figure out where she fits in the picture and keep herself safe despite her friends help.

I really enjoyed this book, much more than book 7, although the three separate stories split the book up more than I would have liked. Of course, we are left with small clues as to what is to come and I couldn’t resist picking up the next book of the series immediately.
