Horrors upon horrors. I think I was expecting more of a Law and Order or CSI experience and instead I got The Blair Witch Project. The “ominous force” in the forest was ghastly but the anger, close mindedness, and cruelty that was present in just about every single character of the book was equally as appalling. I was practically rooting for the “ominous force” to wipe out some of those folks.

I really need to learn more about Appalachian folklore if this story was partially inspired by those tales. What exactly is in ‘them thar hills’?
