Oh my freaking god.
Incredible.
Or to quote the book "It would be impossible if that word hadn't already been used so many times" (or something along those lines.
Impossibly amazing.

The sequel is not as captivating as the debut The Hazel Wood. The book was very slow and dragged! I had the highest expectations because I loved #1 and the characters too. This was a complete miss for me, I am disappointed but moving on!

Mixed feelings. On the one hand, it was slow and the pacing felt very stop and go and it took forever to get where it was going. On the other, I continue to like Albert’s writing and think the world(s) and mythology she has created are brilliant and dark and compelling, and I don’t regret time spent there even if the characters are sometimes flatter than the pages of the stories.

Perfection. I love Albert's prose and snark, they weave together so, so well.
Narration was great, Rebecca Soler did this one same as The Hazel Wood, which was nice. Her cadence and tone suits Alice so well.
I love that this was a duology, and I cant wait to see what Albert comes up with next, because I will read every word she writes. :)

So Hazel Wood, despite it's flaws, is one of my favorite reads in such a long time. After reading it I special ordered a signed special edition because I loved it so much. Unfortunately, I wish I had not read this sequel at all. It does not add much and kind of feels like it was made just to profit off the success of the first one rather than as a necessary addition to the world.
