Sob sob sob, fishy is slowly starting to grow on me :’)

I think this is going to be a series I need when I’ve read something traumatic, it’s very soft and sweet and has me grinning from ear to ear. He’s just a simple fish!!

I’m still very charmed by this story, though I will say this volume didn’t grab me as much as the previous volume. Part of my problem is I’m not really buying the romance here, but despite a lot of the genre clichés present, I still enjoyed this volume. Li Yu is quite a refreshing protagonist for a lot of reasons, but specifically I enjoy how he lays down boundaries,

I just kinda wish he was  more firm about said boundaries

Not as laugh out loud funny as the first book but still delightful. The romance is surprisingly PG/PG-13 and very sweet. I figured with the premise it would be more provocative but it was mostly fade to black in that aspect.

This one also had more to do with palace intrigue which I enjoyed but I know some readers might find it a turn off.

Overall would recommend to anyone who liked the first book. I think the series is worth continuing.
