Cardan was never a likable character to me, but this makes him loveable. Holly provides insight into his childhood, his relationship with his cruel brother, and his marriage. His heart is not made of glass or stone. He is simply a man learning, growing, and making mistakes.

I really enjoyed this sweet short story from the series and loved reading from Cardan’s perspective (I liked him more than Jude in the series).
