I didn't like this. It was pointless in a way that was worse than Taryn's novella, and the writing was just the same metaphor repeated constantly. Booooring. At least Taryn's novella aimed to answer the questions posed in the first book, and while I may not have like the answer, I appreciate it and enjoyed the backtracking from her perspective. Here, we learned NOTHING that we didn't already know from the main books. The reasoning for Cardan's cruelty was beaten over our heads in the last 2 books. But I can also admit that I just didn't like anyone but Jude, so if you like the baby Grackles, then this may be a fun bonus.
