This was a great, sweet read to wrap up 2022. I loved the story and the characters. I wish that some of the plot lines, like Marin's past had been more fleshed out, but this was still just a really nice read.

This was a really difficult book to read, but I read it at the perfect moment in my life. I recently lost my grandpa(thankfully not like how it was in the book), so it was really important for me to read this about grief. I really liked the main character and how she dealt with her grief and all she found out about her grandfather. I enjoyed seeing her relationship with Mabel change, but still be very important. I also liked the ending and it was bittersweet.

A beautiful, sad, thoughtful character-driven story about grief and loneliness. I liked the characters and the fact that the book didn’t shy away from or hold back on the painful depths of the grief Marin was feeling, while also giving us glimpses of how she was working her way towards being ok in little moments and steps.

this book pulled me in and kept me there. i enjoyed how short it is, i liked the writing, the characters and how the story unfolded itself.
it’s sad and i definitely lost a tear or two, i’m very happy i finally decided to give it a go

"the whole world was out there, but i was in my mother's arms, and i didn't know it yet."

this being so short it was kinda difficult for me to fully connect with the characters but the book was still lovely and it made me feel a Lot of emotions
