It was too long and trying to do too much and in the end it wasn’t entertaining. It was just really depressing.

I really thought this book was going to be a 5 star read for me after the first 25%. Then there were just so many details and repetition. The book beautifully tackles misogyny and religious bigotry and its effect on the girls but ultimately fell a bit flat by the end.
