This book was such a good read. I loved it a little less than the first book, the Poppy War, but it was still stellar. The challenges each characters face hurt my heart, especially the plot twist at the very end. It moved at a good pace and I immediately started the last book. What a read.

I completely understand why the reader wouldn’t like or appreciate Rin. This book really gets into how a person can be changed during repeated trauma.
