Another stellar addition to the series. I loved this one even more than the first.

God this book is grim. I thought, after the first one, that things would look up even a little bit, but nope, so so grim. It’s usually very much not my Thing, but the characters are compelling, and even the truly fucked-up ones (in a sea of morally grey characters, mind!) are in a way that feels so realistic it’s terrifying (I’m looking at you Petra). Rin is extremely frustrating, she keeps making stupid decisions and easily avoidable mistakes, but in a very relatable, once again very realistic way, and that makes me want to know her full story. So on we go, and I hope the end of book three will be even marginally happier 🥲
