hát ez a könyv egyáltalán nem olyan volt, mint amire számítottam, de abszolút értem, miért szerették ennyien. volt azért elég sok csavar, amit láttam jönni, de azért a vége meglepett. elég hamar kitaláltam, hogy olivia ted része, de aztán nem sokkal később rájöttem, hogy lauren is. először azt gondoltam, hogy valahogy sikerült megszabadulnia az anyukájától, pedig láthattam volna, hogy milyen ember volt. azt persze kitaláltam, hogy ami laurennel történt meg, az teddel történt, de azt hittem, azért bántja a gyerekeket, mert ezt tette vele az anyja, akitől megszabadult. ami amúgy igaz is, de nem ő ölte meg, csak eltakarította. wow. és szegény lulu esete is, érdekes, ahogyan dee ilyen megrögzötten ragaszkodott ahhoz, hogy megkeresse a húga gyilkosát, pedig ott volt és mindent látott, nem csoda, hogy félt a kígyóktól. azért amikor lauren oliviával beszélgetett, akkor elbizonytalanodtam egy kicsit, hogy akkor most mégiscsak létezik lauren, de annak úgy nem lett volna értelme, mindent ismerve. szóval ez egy nagyon meglepő könyv volt, és meglepően sokat tanultam belőle.

"The Last House on Needless Street" offered me a whole new experience with a thriller. The horror and the subtle fantasy elements fell gradualy into place as the story progresed.
Ted, Lauren, Olivia and Dee were the main POVs. Each voice felt apropiate for the sitiuation in which they were.
I consider that the less you know going in the story, the better reading experience you will have. It was the same thing I have done.
Catriona Ward has made me feel cheated at a few points toward the end, which demostrated how well she controled her prose and her readers.

Birds stuck in glue traps while alive was an immediate no-go for me.

Initially it was hard to follow due to the switching POV's but once you figured out who was who and that they're all a bit of unreliable narrators it's not so bad. It was hard to put down because I needed to know what happened next and who was telling the truth, if anyone. There were moments that were hard to read but they weren't gratuitous and do a good job of building the world and ties everything together in the end.
