Enjoyed this fun little adventure from beginning to end. Tom Fletcher is a personal hero of mine and I am a long time fan, so of course I had to read this. My boyfriend special ordered it for me from the UK and everything!
Christmas spirit is alive and fun in this tale! I can wait till one day in the future I can read this to my own little elves, like I imagine the author did with his sweet little boys Buzz & Buddy.
If it isn't obvious, I loved this - even if it is a kids story! :)

Not bad at all. I did find some bits a little twee but I guess that was what Tom was going for. A good book for kids at Christmas.

This was delightful. And I don't even care about Christmas.
This is such a fun middle grade Christmas book. The language was pretty silly throughout, so I would definitely recommend for younger middle grade readers, but I think that age will find the silly language really enjoyable. This book has wheelchair representation which I don't think I've seen in any other books--let alone middle grade. I'm no expert, but it felt like it was portrayed accurately and definitely felt super respectful. I also thought that the characters developed in a realistic way. Even though Brenda is horrible, I felt like I understood her and that's not always the case with antagonists. I loved all of the illustrations throughout and the Christmas feels were SO STRONG. There's a twist at the end that I didn't see coming (am I just oblivious???) which was such a fun surprise. I recommend getting the version of the book that comes with the soundtrack--not necessary, but a really fun and festive bonus.

Und dann ist da noch das neue Mädchen in der Schule, das ihn hänselt. Dabei wünscht sich William doch nichts sehnlicher, als einen Dinosaurier-Freund zu haben. Doch das ist selbst für den Weihnachtsmann und seine Elfen eine enorme Herausforderung...
Ein absolut magisches Abenteuer, das mit der Matt-Haig-Trilogie in meine Weihnachtssammlung eingehen wird mit umwerfend niedlichen Illustrationen von Shane Devries. Doch natürlich brauchen unfassbar niedliche Illustrationen eine unfassbar niedliche Story als Basis - dazu tragen hier der putzige Weihnachtosaurier, die vielen Elfen, ein Santa mit exorbitantem Ausmaßen und eine Story voller Liebe bei. Besonders cool ist natürlich auch, dass der Hauptcharakter kein durchgestylter Teenie ist, sondern ein normaler Junge im Rollstuhl und seine Herausforderungen. Sein Abenteuer könnte praktisch jedem*jeder passieren!
Woran merkt man, dass Fletcher Brite sein muss? Er benutzt Wörter wie "spacey-wacey". Doctor Who, anyone? Außerdem liebe ich es, wenn eine Geschichte nicht "nur" mit Bildern illustriert wird, sondern auch mit der Schrift selbst gespielt wird. Wenn da ein CLONK ist, reicht es einfach nicht, nur clonk zu schreiben.
Also falls ihr Magie, den Glaube an Hoffnung, Schnee, Dinosaurier und/oder unfassbare Putzigkeit mögt, ist dieses Buch für euch!

If you ever feel like reading a feel-good book when you are down, there's nothing like a children's book to lift up your spirits. The old unbeatable queen of this realm was Enid Blyton, what with her flying wishing chairs and lands atop the Faraway tree.
Today, there is a plethora of children's books in the market with umpteen authors. We are too spoilt for choice. So if you are looking for a simple hearttouching book that you want to gift to your child or maybe even to yourself, here's one brilliant option you can try: The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher. This is such a delightful book that you simply can't keep it down.
Recommended for all independent readers above the age of 7. Can be a fabulous option as a bedtime story for younger kids too.
Initially, I felt that this would be on similar lines as David Walliams, but except for a slight resemblance in writing style, there is nothing else to connect the two authors. David Walliams (I adore his books too!) is out-and-out crazy in his storylines, creating a perfect medley of the real and the really weird. Tom Fletcher writes in Enid Blyton style, a magical story with a great balance of good characters and naughty characters, each of whom get their due desserts by the end of the book. Children will love this adorable book, and so would their parents. I'm now waiting for its sequel "The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch" to be available at a more reasonable rate so that I can get my hands on it too.
