This was probably one of my favorite children’s books ever. First of all, the fact that the main character is in a wheelchair, and it’s spoken about like it’s a pretty normal thing (which for many people- it is!) is amazing. You wouldn’t even know that from picking up the book and looking at the cover. It’s the perfect amount of humor, magic, adventure, and suspense. It even addresses life lessons in a very tasteful way. Plus, even for an adult, the villain really creeped me out. Guess he got what was coming to him? Won’t give any spoilers!
Not bad at all. I did find some bits a little twee but I guess that was what Tom was going for. A good book for kids at Christmas.
