If you are considering New York Dead as your first Stone Barrington novel - don't. I have read and enjoyed other books in this series - but if I had started here I am not sure I would continue. Homophobic references and continuity issues are just two of my problems with this book. I did learn the backstory of how Stone became a lawyer - but getting there was an odd journey.

I have read a few of this series in the past and I finally got around to reading the first one.  It wasn’t bad and I will have to keep seeing which ones are available as audiobooks

I could see the ending coming but I still found the drive to get there delightful. The middle meandered a bit but I still loved book as a whole!
