Little Eve is an atmospheric read.

The true horror in this book is the horrendous actions the characters take against themselves and one another to prove their faith. The characters are isolated in this castle, surrounded by jagged rocks and the sea. They believe one day the Addler will come and save them while the rest of the world will burn. The Uncle uses this power to control both the women and the 4 children living there.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one. The pacing was a little slow, but it was because it was building the tension and stakes the whole way through. It starts out with a bang with the discovery of dead bodies everywhere, and then goes back in time and shows the characters and how they ended up there.

slow-paced
