3.6/5 stars for the whole series
Overall somewhat flat writing but enjoyable nonetheless. Would recommend for early teen readers.

To all the boys I've loved before trilogy is a sweet YA romance that will make you squeal.
The main reason I love this series is because I could relate to Lara Jean so much. If you're an overthinker like me you would understand the depth of her insecurities. It explores relationships as what it is in real life. Key to relationships is communication and trust rather than blind attraction. The third installment even focuses on how one must chase ones dream rather than giving it up for a relationship.
What I hate about the second movie is that they failed to show why LJ was feeling so insecure in the first place. She did not have second thought about Peter because John came in her life but because of the relationship Peter had with Genevieve. There were so many instances where Peter left LJ to protect Gen and her problems.

I liked this series, but I just didn't believe in the central romance between Lara Jean and Peter. There was a lot I really appreciated: I related to the Song girls and, although cliched, I liked the queer supporting character, I also appreciated the discussion of culture, as well as Lara Jean's commitment to her friend, Chris. That said, I just couldn't get with Peter as a 'good guy' or see how Lara Jean could really relate to each other inter-personally.
