I adored this! It's so rare to get a collection of essays where there's something I can take from every single one. Had to force myself read it slower. Particularly enjoyed the essay where hors d'oeuvres somehow became symbolic for rejecting the patriarchy (and it worked)!

Absolutely delightful. A diverse and interesting selection of essays touching on all aspects of food, food preparation and the meaning behind it all. My only complaint is that it left me wanting more.

I loved this book. It was a delight to read. My wife and I picked it up in our local independent bookstore and read it to each other over a couple of weeks and it has helped us think more about kitchens, food and people in our lives, and the home we want to build together. Didn’t necessarily see eye to eye with each contributor, and with a range of essays some struck closer to home than others, but it doesn’t redact from the beauty of this anthology all together. A wonderful read!
