I wasn’t the most moved, but I have a feeling that might be because I was reading it from home instead of watching a performance firsthand. Perhaps what’s most striking is the scattered mind of the narrator, though I do appreciate the way the text shines light on the relationship between therapist and patient.
Edit: okay I watched a performance and god I feel Awful it was very evocative how dare they truly … I cannot imagine acting this performance I would feel absolutely horrific. See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4eAJVlgCdo it was so upsetting

Just as sad as i remembered. sarah kanes suicide note pretty much which adds another level of tragedy. it felt wrong to read almost, but she desperately wanted people to understand her. not an enjoyable book, but very exposing. the only reason i’m not giving five stars is i think it would love worked better as a long poem not a play

read almost like poetry but recently I have realised that theatre is actually the most volatile form that there is
that being said it was almost a bit too absurd and a bit too much like poetry for me, with not enough stuff to grab on
still, I enjoyed the writing and would absolutely LOVE to see this preformed

amazing play, though maybe don’t read it while in the midst of a manic depressive episode

"I have become so depressed by the fact of my mortality that I have decided to commit suicide".

Haunting and infused with a brutal poetic sensibility and wit, and very close to home if you've ever dealt with this sort of thing. Haven't read Kane before but will have to go through her works chronologically after this. Properly analyzing and reviewing a suicide note seems kind of moot and even insensitive, so I'll just let this be as it is.

A glorification of suicide that ought to come with a heap of content warnings.
