I love Richard Castle's writing style (makes me think of the show) and Bendis does a great job reflecting that. This time Storm is attempting to bring down an African Warlord ring and who does he find, Clara Strike back from the dead. Fun, action filled and witty.

Didn't like it at all. When I was reading I just wanted it to be over. Really not impressed.

I remain flummoxed at comic book depictions of women. Even when miraculously given depth and written as capable, the artists still manage to make them inexplicably buxom and spilling out of their blouses. Like CIA agent attire should naturally be low cut. Scientist? Cleavage. Teacher? Cleavage. Mother? Cleavage. Politician? Cleavage. They would rewrite the Julia Child story into a winsome 20-something (well...18+ anyway) with a push-up bra.

Sigh

And before you say it. I care less than nothing about WHY they do it. Whatever.

I do wonder what their mothers think.

I had hoped that the graphic novels would be a good holdover until they publish the Derrick Storm novels but after flipping through a couple pages of "Deadly Storm" and trying to read this one I could not finish it. The overall effect came off as too cartoony for my taste. Why waste my time when I can now read the Derrick Storm e-book trilogy and picture his adventures in my own mind hopefully more realistic.

This series is getting more and more like Castle. Derrick Storm is like a slightly more buff Richard Castle at this point - all charm and wordplay, while his female love interest is the tougher crime fighter.

Fun stuff.

This second Derrick Storm graphic novel was just as amazing as the first! The fun-filled story line and a surprising twist.
