Read it for my Novel class and it was good to read something different. It showed what our society might be headed towards to if we keep up with science and technology ruling over everyone.

I found this a little difficult to get into, and I wasn't really a huge fan of the ending either. Lots of interesting ideas, Huxley does a good job of world-building and then the exposition of that world to the reader. I think I was a little letdown in that this book had been hyped as a rival to Orwell's 1984, and I didn't find it nearly as compelling or as "scary" as Orwell's work. Honestly, towards the end, I almost wished I could have lived in Huxley's world. Your life sucks and you have a shit job, but you've been conditioned to like it anyway? Sounds fantastic.

A book with a deeply disturbing start yet with little payoff at the end. Predictable. At times boring. The sexism and racism age this book very poorly. There are some artfully produced lines, but they're far and few. Wouldn't recommend.

Such a thought-provoking read. It's hard to say whether it's intended dystopian and utopian, but either way it seems to call the reader out of the comfort of ignorance. The storyline is not the most interesting, but the descriptions of the society are detailed and fascinating. I think Huxley was calling people to hold on to their morals and values, even though they are often discounted. I'm still processing this one. It's the chewy type, so I probably will be for a while.

Loved the ideas and surely they must have been thought provoking for the time.
But the writing style really was not for me.
I Felt no attachment to any of the characters, and it was very hard for me to keep up with what was happening.
