I can never turn down a book in Ireland! Emily's journey, both professional and personal, opened a portal to escape and hope for the chance to daydream a little more.

I picked this up expecting a book-related romance, and whilst I definitely got that, I got so much more too.
Emily starts as a simple but complex young woman, and I loved the way her character developed throughout the story. The way her relationship with her mum wore on her and the way she found another mother figure by the end really touched me.
I liked the way that we slowly learnt why Keiran was such an awful person, and the way he changed. His relationship with Siobhan was shown to be deep but difficult and it was done in such a way that it was believable and didn't take away from the story.
Of course, the romance was there, but the story touched on some more serious topics of abuse and grief too.
Overall, I went on a journey with this book and there may have been some teary moments for me. Definitely a favourite for this month (and this year).

3.5 - this had a lot of potential, but the writing felt really repetitive and a few plot points were rushed.
