I am not embarrassed to admit I am a series junkie. I love when the secondary characters you root for and love get the spotlight. I love hearing the story of their love. So when I saw Bash was getting his book, I couldn't be stopped.

As a late comer to the Black Hawk Boys series, I can say you don't have to have read the others, but I strongly advise it. Side stories and character relationships are better understood. However, I keep saying I'm going to get to book one, so I'm not one to talk.

Bash has a much more complicated history than a lot of people are aware. It makes my heart hurt for him. His past and his terrible decisions keep him from truly being happy. His fear keeps him from the one woman he loves.

Bash is a treading water with the problems in his life. But as they keep piling on he is in danger of Going Under.

Alex has had a crush on him for five long years. A near miss kiss only made that longing worse. But she isn't back to catch up with him, she's back to start living the life she put on hold when her sister died.

Chemistry, longing, and family push them together while ripping them apart. In the end, will they save each other or are they Going Under?

Ahhh! I love this series and am so excited for Keegan's story. But I really wish Bailey would get her sh!t together, my man Mason needs her!

The ending was rushed. 80% of the book was wasted on God knows what. They got together for 2 chapters probably and then fought again. Everything ended beautiful though.

Unfortunately, this was a DNF at 50%. (I skimmed the last half.) The hero
Spoiler had a sexual (not intercourse) relationship with the heroine's TWIN sister before she died. AND he was messing with the sister all the while having a thing for the heroine. The heroine doesn't find this out until like 75% into the book.
I'm sorry that is just nasty and SO not something I enjoy reading about in my romance books.

This NA book does not work with me. The story is very promising with a hint of some dark forbidden secret. That secret is revealed around 85% of this book. While the first 85% is wasted on push and pull between Alex and Sebastian.

And that push and pull is dull. No twist nor dimension nor chemistry on that banter. To be honest i was bored to death listening to this book. I even day dreaming while listening to this audio book.

What a disappointment to such promising story.

There comes a time in a series where one will speak to you more. GOING UNDER spoke to me so very deeply that I spent the novel clutching my kindle and begging my own eyeballs to read faster. This novel was intensely provocative and filled with the best kind of slow burn; the torturous kind. The hidden secrets, dark pasts, forbidden feelings…it all adds up to one fantastic novel.

The webs that Ryan wove between these two characters are riddled with a deep connection that’s stunted by life and its many obstacles. They have an attraction that’s forbidden not only because she’s the sister of his friend, but for a multitude of reasons that tear the both of them apart daily. Sebastian Crowe is a haunted, reformed bad boy that craves the girl that he can’t have, and the conflicted feelings he has for her will rip you apart. He and Alexandra both struggle with want and need, but her the most because she’s dealing with finding who she is on top of it all.

I absolutely fell in love with this novel. Their wonderfully tragic story pulled at me, causing my stomach to flip and my chest to hurt, but it was the kind of pain that’s so very worth it. GOING UNDER has become my favorite of the series. Ryan wrote Sebastian’s story perfectly–her choice of how to display and show us each emotion was perfectly done. It’s a heartbreaking connection these two share, but it’s beautiful too. My heart still yearns for them because this book made me feel. The great kind of feel that only some books pull from you. This book pulled it all from me and I absolutely loved it. Add in the great cast of secondary characters, and you’ve got an exceptional novel. Cannot wait for more of the Blackhawk Boys (but, like, can we get Bailey and Mason’s story now?!?).
