Saw Wicked on January 1st and finally wanted to just read this classic novel.
Follows the movie pretty closely except for a few changes mainly toward the end. The other thing is that the Wicked Witch of the West actually hardly features in the book, whereas she's the main villain in the movie.
Lots of fun -- listened to the audiobook version narrated by Anne Hathaway which was great.

Finally read this book! I probably would have loved it as a child. Very interesting take on a magical world. Didn't know why the flying monkeys had to obey the wicked witch of the west and Oz is the worst little man. There some nuggets of wisdom here and there.

Un cuento infantil (al menos la versión original) muy fácil de leer y entretenida para los peques y tierna para los mayores. Un viaje al mundo de la infancia más bien.
This book is so nostalgic! While I have never read the book, I watched the movie a lot as a kid, and Wicked has always been my favorite musical. The book itself had many interesting points in it that I wouldn’t have picked up as a young child, so I’m glad I read it as a teen. Super easy read that I read in one day. Would recommend!
