It's been a long time since I'd read this book so I decided to give the audiobook a listen. I also forgot how very different the book is from the movie, which I knew would be the case. I did laugh at the fact that Dorothy called Toto a meat dog and how they were talking about heart disease. It also made me chuckle when the narrator made the cowardly lion sound like he was going to cry every time he talked.

I don’t know why I never think of this to recommend to children who want adventure stories. It’s a little different from the movie but it was fun.

I read this book with an English student of mine over the course of half a school year and I think it was fun and cute. Nothing much to add it's the wizard of oz. ( I was surprised by the amount of killing going on and since everyone in oz is sentient I guess the amount of murder )
