This one was a favorite to read with D1 & D2 when they were young. It was nice to reread it today.
Sheila Rae, the Brave by Kevin Henkes was such an inspiring short story about two little girls who are so brave and bold in the world. I was so delighted by this story. The rhyme scheme made the story more enjoyable and the art style captures the youthfulness and playfulness that one would expect from a children's book.
I recommend this book to parents of daughters who are very brave and curious about the world. I feel like there are a lot of moments in the book that could be good for stopping and having some deeper conversations.

Sheila Rae is not afraid of anything. But one day she decides to take a different way home and becomes lost and afraid. Lucky for Sheila Rae, her little sister Louisa was following her and knew the way home.

Reading with my students who are learning about story structure and theme. It's fun that I get the chance to read to them and listen to them read stories I enjoyed as a kid.
