A little bit slow at the start, but it wasn't long before I was hooked.
Lovely ending as well, not the normal for these books. I got a bit emotional with Mavis having her baby.

I'm doing something I thought I'd never do... I'm reading out of order! But... but... I got this one as a kindle deal, and these are episodic mysteries, so that's okay, right? right???

I really liked this one, even though it tugged at my heartstrings. I hate it when good people are murdered, especially when it's a couple. I don't even know why.

Sometimes, it's frustrating to be a reader because you know a character isn't being introduced this late in the game, in this specific book, for no reason. So you're trying to figure out the connection to the case the entire time, and then you get it, but your beloved detectives don't because they are not living this book as readers, and I want to poke my head into the book and guide them in the right direction :<

Also, it was so fun to see Roarke as uncomfortable as Eve, for one!

This was my first non-romance Nora Roberts book. I didn't know what to expect since I'm not a big fan- but this series came highly recommended.

I can hardly believe this is the same author (no offense). Her dialogue is quick and witty. Her characters are well developed. The plot was interesting and kept me reading. The main character can be a little too 'hard'- which got to be a little annoying at times. She veers so far to the extreme 'not your typical woman!' that she can be almost cartoonish.

I'm not sure I'm going to go back to the beginning of the series and read all gazillion books- but I did enjoy this one.
