Crushing always comes before the promise, just as the cross must come before the crown. But remember, there IS a crown and the crushing is not the end. Phenomenal read.

Read in a time of crushing.

There were some good thoughts. The author touched briefly on a very deep and interesting concept, without really delving into it as much as I would have liked. All in all, it's a decent little book, though.

This is my first read from T.D jakes and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s somehow different from his sermons in such that it takes a bit of a psychological/self-development approach to developing the topic. The last chapters is really where you see the pastor come through so all in all it is a great balance between spirituality and practical experiences of « crushing »

Using how grapes are turned into wine, as well as from personal experiences in his life, Bishop Jakes shows us some of the reasoning for suffering, as well as how we should be able to not only overcome, but also learn from the experience..
