This was a cute little rags-to-riches story about a woman who finds out the protagonist in her childhood stories was a real person--her mother's pen-pal. Everything ends so ridiculously happily that I think I would personally file this under fantasy.

A wonderful book to get through! Although the story was so basic and easy to guess before the main character, it was so much fun to go through. And Aunt Dimity...she was so great. So was her mom. So is Bill :D

what a great book!

Loved it! Totally a "cozy mystery"!

Very cozy and nostalgic, a cute story that gave me all the English wanderlust vibes. I went in blind so I was surprised and charmed by the ghost! Not much of a mystery though, more about grief than anything. I hear the mysteries get better after the initial book so I’ll keep my eye out!

Everything a cozy book ought to be!!  Lori is left to discover the secrets of  Aunt Dimity and Beth (her mother).  With the help of her attorneys son (Bill Willis) Lori's discoveries allow her to help others and herself open up to love, forgiveness and joy.  The first of a series, I have added the next to my TBR.

This is the kind of cozy I love---no gore, no murder, no irreverent "humor". Just a happy, too-good-to-be-true story with a non-graphic mystery to solve. Even though this is the first of the Dimity books, it's actually the third I've read. Book two is actually a prequel to this one, having taken place while Dimity was still alive and telling the story of Derek and Emma. I'm starting on book three right away and hoping to settle in to a nice, long series that's been being published over 20 years now!
