Oh, Pounce. If I could have a robot nanny, I'd hope to get one like you.
I loved Pounce. How can you not love him? An overprotective robot nanny shaped like a stuffed tiger? Please. I want 3.
Day Zero was an absolutely wild ride. This is the first book I've run, yelling, to tell someone the name of the elementary school, about the political groups, about the architectural design choices, about the ways this future world mirrors a potential of our own. This is one of the first that felt really real to me. Not in a "this is possible" way that many books do with robots and space ships, but in the way that it looked at human culture and growth. Very fun.
I loved looking at the ideas of this book. In many ways it was very smart and introspective. I wasn't as interested in all of the action, gore, and killing, but it did balance out all the reflecting Pounce likes to do.
Very fun, I didn't want to put this one down.

Be nice to Alexa.
The day life ends as we know it was so well written it felt like a historical event. This book and Sea of Rust had to be heard back to back. Thrilling.

In a fit of whimsy, I hereby announce I will give everyone five stars, but the reviews may not reflect it.
Ah, nothing like a good robot uprising to start the day. When household robots start murdering their owners, it takes a bunch of robots who like their owners to save the day. This is definitely an interesting premise but I found it lacking in execution. I'm not sure what the issue was - maybe the good droids were a little too cutesy for my liking. Still, it's been getting good reviews and some of it is good fun and clever, so don't write it off based on my amateur opinion. Plus, it's a quick read.
