A pleasant read that actually got me doing more research on the places, events and people mentioned.
A bit dated at this point - it was first published in 2000 - so there are some antiquated and no longer accepted terminology in the book.
Overall, relaxing read with a lot of interesting, appreciated history intertwined with the recounting of Bryson's travels.

A rich white man goes to a colonized country and thinks he can solve hundreds of years of societal inequality facing the aboriginal people without ever speaking to a single one or even acknowledging their humanity all while being a huge jerk to people in the service industry- absolutely vile
