The book was written by an English woman, but the setting and all but one of the characters are American. It made it a fun game finding them saying things that Americans don't say, and at one point driving on the left. Too funny.

It was a great holiday read and I really enjoyed it. I really liked seeing the struggles that the women have faced, how they overcome their obstacles and how they changed and improved on themselves and their situation. I did not find the multiple povs distracting, it was actually really well written as I did not feel like I was missing anything from other povs. I really liked the character development and the plot itself. The setting was very Christmassy and I really liked the cozy vibes of the book. I really liked seeing the women's lives intertwined and see how each character reacted to the same situation, it really felt as if I was there with them. I will be looking forward to reading more of Sarah Morgan's blacklist since I quite enjoy her writing.

I love reading a cosy Christmas themed story on Christmas Eve for Jólabókaflóðið, a wonderful Icelandic tradition, also know as the Christmas Book Flood.

As I snuggled up for my day of reading, when my husband knows only to keep me supplied with a cuppa and cookie, every hour on the hour, and to disturb me only when he has cooked dinner...And I had a Christmas cracker of a book!

The Christmas Book Club is the first Sarah Morgan novel I have read and I loved it! It had all the Christmassy feels, 3 friends, who had to postpone their original annual Book Club vacation to December and end up at the Maple Sugar Inn in Vermont, with its snowy slopes and picture postcard hotel. Over the course of a week, secrets are shared, burdens are unbaggaged and the Innkeeper and her daughter become entwined in the three friends lives in more ways than one!
