the beginning was a bit dull, but when we met quigley and questions were answered it all got very exciting.
it was nice to see character development, and a big difference in plot in comparison to the previous books which all more or less followed the same formula

Another great book of the series. I love the style of the story and each book is just as interesting as the last.
Gahhhh! I don't remember this book being so packed with goodies, but I loved it the second time around. The separation of Sunny from her older siblings is such an interesting dilemma to explore, and there's so much character development that happens for all three orphans as a result. The reveal of Quigley is perfect, and I love the hints that something deeper than friendship is brewing between him and Violet. The reintroduction of characters we've seen in past books who might have had a more sinister role in proceedings than we knew is also perfect. Just- yes. I'm so pleased with the amount of agency in this book, and the way it moves at such a neck-breaking pace from start to finish.
I loved this book. The whole series has good educational bits cleverly slipped in (and this was no exception). The story moved along in some interesting, unexpected but always brilliant twists and turns. Can't wait to get on with the next one - but getting sad that I'm almost through the whole series.
